Asalaamu alaykum, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, this is Tauseef.

At the moment of writing this, I am in a state of utter and sheer horror; I have just been reading Al-Ghazali's 'Remembering Death & the Afterlife', a terrifyingly detailed book about what is just about to take place. Like I would suggest to you to do your revision for an important exam or prepare well for a good job interview, I IMPLORE you to keep reminding yourself of the day of judgement in all your actions and thoughts for when it comes.

Whether one believes in judgement day or not is irrelevant.  It is a real day, brothers and sisters, and its dawn is about to break very soon.

The best thing I can advise you to prepare with is this: If you think you might have trouble admitting sins (no matter how shameful) or answering certain questions (such as how you spent your time, how you spent your wealth, how you obtained your wealth, etc), PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE confess everything TODAY NOW!!! Allah is waiting for you to turn to Him in sincere repentance. Do it now before the door of repentance closes forever. The more you confess now, the less you will have to answer for tomorrow on the plain.

Correct, perfect and complete your faith and beliefs, fulfil your obligations, stay away from the haraam, be honest, faithful and humble in your dealings, turn your back on the dunya, pay off your debts if you are able to, ask forgiveness from those against you have perpetrated slander or calumny (if it is feasible) and purify your hearts from evil traits like hatred, envy, attachment to worldly things, pride and arrogance. DO IT NOW BEFORE IT IS, LITERALLY, TOO LATE.

It is not enough to just say, 'may Allah save us from the Fire, the terror of qiyamah and the punishment of the grave, etc.' If we do not back this up with anything, then all is lost.
